Terms of Service – Couplio

Effective Date: November 15, 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Couplio mobile applications, websites, and related services ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Couplio.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Couplio.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • If you connect third-party accounts (e.g., Google), you authorize us to retrieve the limited profile information required to operate the Service.

2. User Content

  • "User Content" includes drawings, captions, profile details, relationship dates, and any other information you submit.
  • You retain ownership of your User Content, but grant Couplio a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and display it solely to operate and improve the Service.
  • You must ensure you have the rights to any content you upload and that it does not infringe or violate others' rights.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  1. Use Couplio for any illegal, harmful, or abusive activity.
  2. Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or violates another person's rights.
  3. Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or bypass security features.
  4. Share your account with people outside your partnered room or misrepresent your identity.
  5. Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app except as allowed by applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. In-App Communications

Couplio may send you service-related emails or push notifications (e.g., room invites, doodle updates). You can disable notifications in the app or device settings, but critical account messages will still be delivered via email.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Couplio is free to download and use with optional premium features available via in-app purchase or subscription.

  • Billing: All purchases are processed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions: Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. We cannot process refunds directly.
  • Changes: We may modify subscription offerings or prices with advance notice to users.

By purchasing premium features, you agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes. Current pricing and feature details are shown in the app.

6. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in the app or by emailing support.couplio@skuza.app. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your account if:

  • You breach these Terms or applicable laws,
  • We are required to do so by law, or
  • We discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, we will delete or anonymize your User Content as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • Couplio is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor that content will always be available.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Couplio and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) $20 or (b) amounts you paid us in the past 12 months (currently $0).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so these limitations may not apply to you.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Couplio and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

9. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may change or discontinue aspects of the Service at any time. We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version and revising the "Effective Date." If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you reside outside the United States, mandatory consumer protections in your country still apply.
